Things to do this week in Tulsa!

With this unusual, cooler August weather, I've been spending as much time outside as possible! You should definitely do the same. Especially since this week in Tulsa is sure to be an exciting one. From music to athletics, you'll find something to do nearly every evening.

Mix 2017 at Cain's Ballroom

If you're into the music and mixology scene, you have to check out MIX 2017. On August 19th, from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M., the absolute best bartenders in Tulsa will be competing to become this years “-MIX-ologist”. 16 competitors are going head-to-head to grab the title at Cains Ballroom. MIX 2017 is hosted by Philbrook Young Masters Society and admission into the event benefits the Philbrook museum. Enjoy music, drinks, food, games, and more at this one-of-a-kind event.

Ed Sheeran at the BOK Center

“I See Fire”! Or maybe that's just Ed Sheeran's hair. Everyone's favorite British red-head is coming to Tulsa this Thursday, August 17th. Lighting up the BOK stage alongside James Blunt, this is one event you cannot miss. Tickets are still available online and start as low as $64. 

Drillers: Star Wars Night at ONEOK Field 

The Drillers games are a local favorite. If you have not been this season, go check them out on August 18th for a very special Star Wars Night. Take a selfie with Chewbacca, or come dressed as a Wookiee yourself! This annual event will also feature dazzling fireworks and the usual good food and baseball. The game starts at 7:05 P.M. If you can't make it out on the 18th, join the Drillers on the 19th instead as they face off against San Antonio at 7:05 P.M.

Clear the Shelter at Tulsa Animal Welfare

Cat and dog lovers alike can join together for this very heart-warming event, this Saturday from noon to 6:00 P.M. Clear the Shelter invites all animal enthusiasts to find their new best friend through adoption. Located at Tulsa Animal Welfare, adoption fees are dropped to a mere $10. Cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies are all available. 

Farmers' Market on Cherry Street 

Oklahoma is proud to be a farm-friendly state! Locals love the Cherry Street Farmers' Market. Visit this week on Saturday, August 19th. Discover locally grown, organic produce including herbs, vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, cheeses, and even baked goods! Enjoy garden crafts, music, and more from 7:00 A.M. Until 11:00 A.M. Come early for the best selection. Cherry Street Farmers' Market is located East of Peoria on 15th street.
