What's Happening in Tulsa: July 24th - July 30th
Temperatures continue to rise and so do the number of fun events in Tulsa! This week hosts a number of themed activities so you and your friends can make the most of the long summer nights. From food and drink specials, to Tulsa's first ever urban luau, this last week in July may be my most favorite yet!
Summertime and beer just go hand-in-hand. Start the week off right at the Tulsa Garden Center, Tuesday July 25th, for a craft beer tasting. The founder and brewmaster of American Solera, Chase Healy, will help guide attendees to find their ultimate in beer through sampling and education. Members of the garden center can join for merely $30. Non-members can purchase tickets for $40. To sign up, call (918) 576-5155 today.
I always look forward to a food truck meal. With Wild Card Wednesday happening every last Wednesday of the month out at Guthrie Green, you can try all-new truck fare. Sure, we all love our culinary staples. However, trying something new could lead to a new favorite! Head down to to Guthrie Green on July 26th and your taste buds are sure to be impressed.
Whether you are a home owner or not, it's hard not to love a little interior design inspiration. For the ultimate in home improvement, remodeling, and landscaping, check out the 2017 Home & Garden Expo of Oklahoma this Friday through Sunday. Located at the Tulsa Expo Center, this free three day event features nearly 250 exhibits. Raffles and giveaways are abundant and one lucky winner will walk away with $500 cash. Prizes and home décor? What more could you ask for?
Cool down this Friday, July 28th at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center as they host the 2017 Summer Heat International Dance Festival. This performance will feature the Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Brian Brooks: Wilderness. After watching their movements on stage, you are sure to be inspired to bust out your own moves, so attend the after party to do just that!
Are you dreaming of a Hawaiian getaway? Skip the long flight and attend Hawaiian Dreams on the Green – Urban Luau on Saturday, July 29th. This is the first of its kind and is sure to be a tropical success. Starting at 6:30 P.M., you will enjoy native entertainment from Netane Polynesian Productions, Burney Sisters Music, as well as the LIMBO superstar, Queen Shemika Charles. Come as you are or dressed in your favorite Hawaiian shirt and surf shorts. This is a free event so bring the entire family. In fact, simply by attending, you have the chance to win two flight tickets to Hawaii. So, don't rule out that long flight just yet.
